Saturday Strangeness

This homeowner really wanted to make sure no one could get into the house via this basement door.

A creative way to secure a door.

A creative way to secure a door.

There is also a dual-key deadbolt on the door, as well as a security chain… but the bracket for the chain is near the bottom of the door, way out of reach of the chain.

It’s creative, all right, but a properly installed deadbolt lock (regular or fancy) would probably do the job as well.

Well, I don’t know, Bob. A security bar is DEFINITELY more secure than a chain! And probably easier for the average person to install than a deadbolt. I can see their point…NOT!!
