We Want Our Seniors to Stay in their Homes, But Are We Keeping Their Homes Safe?

The Senior Home Safety Network is a National Network of home inspectors with more than 30 regional offices dedicated to keeping seniors safe in their homes. We provide standardized and specific inspections to identify issues for seniors wanting to stay in their homes. Our providers recognize that the children of seniors often live across the country or have too many other time commitments and require a reliable system for checking the homes of loved ones.

We perform home safety inspection services generally ignored by others. As an example, a furnace technician will check if the furnace will turn on. We check for proper venting, fuel leaks and carbon monoxide. We can check if the hot water tank has legionella due to too low of a temperature setting or if there is mold that is creating health conditions that prevents recovery from respiratory conditions. We check the service panel and exterior cable for defects, not just whether an outlet operates. .

We are the only national program providing these services. We have a Standards of Practice, accessible yet secure reporting system with privacy provisions, police clearances for all inspectors, insurance verification, and photo ID badges for all inspectors.

We handle circumstances from a senior returning to the home from vacation or a medical stay outside of the home. We provide ongoing services during a return after a nursing home stay or after a natural disaster. We can check the home when a senior is grieving the loss of their partner or too sick to look for themselves. We are dedicated to the safety of our clients when they most need it.
